As a newborn, maternity, and baby photographer located in Vancouver, I have noticed many different trends this year. Let’s look at three of them more specifically so you can get an idea of how baby fashion is changing in 2022.
Gender Neutral is Still In
Soft, neutral colors that do not scream baby boy or baby girl are still all the rage in 2022. This trend started a couple of years ago and was previously popular in the earlier half of the 20th century but is starting to make a comeback in a huge way. Rather than automatically dressing a baby girl in pink and purple or a baby boy in green and blue, parents are opting for color options that we don’t typically associate with gender.
Organic Baby Clothes
The push towards using natural products has never been more apparent. In 2022, this is translating to baby clothes as well. Parents are choosing organic clothing in an effort to keep chemicals off of their baby’s skin which is creating a whole new powerhouse in the baby fashion industry of organic clothing for newborns and babies.
Cute Prints are Coming Back!
There was a good period of time where neutral colors were the forefront of fashion for babies (and in some areas they still are). However, we are starting to see some pushback against the nude, white, and gray clothing for babies and swinging toward the opposite end of the spectrum.
