As a mom of two, I know how quickly those tiny fingers, sleepy faces and little details change. These are the portraits you’ll look back on for years, and creating them for you is one of my favourite parts of what I do.

Which Newborn Photography Style Feels Right for You?

Every family is different, and your newborn portraits should feel like you.

Some families love the traditional curled-up newborn poses. Others are drawn to something softer and more natural. And if your baby is already a little older, there are still so many beautiful ways to capture this stage.

CLASSIC NEWBORN

Designed for babies 2–3 weeks old, when your baby is the sleepiest and curliest. If you love traditional newborn portraits, this is for you. Think soft wraps, carefully styled setups and those sweet curled-up poses that capture just how tiny your baby is.

NATURAL NEWBORN

Designed for babies 2–4 weeks old, when your baby is the sleepiest and curliest. If you’re drawn to something softer and more natural, this session keeps the focus on your baby. Whites, creams, beautiful textures, simple outfits and gentle positioning create a clean, timeless look.

You don’t need to know what to bring, how to pose or how to get your baby to sleep. I’ll walk you through everything before your session and have it all ready when you arrive.

I only take a limited number of newborns each month, so booking early saves your spot around your due date. Once your baby arrives, send me a quick message and we’ll set your date.

You’re probably taking hundreds of photos of your baby, but chances are you’re in very few of them. Every session includes portraits of you with your baby, the two of you together, and your whole family.

You don’t need to feel camera-ready or know how to pose. I’ll guide you through everything, so you can simply hold your baby and be in the moment.

Vancouver Newborn Photographer

During pregnancy is ideal so I can keep space available around your due date. If your baby has already arrived, please reach out. I photograph newborns beyond the traditional first few weeks as well.

Absolutely.

Older babies photograph beautifully and often bring more eye contact, expressions and personality to their portraits. I’ll adapt the session to your baby’s age and what they are comfortable doing rather than expecting them to pose or sleep like a brand-new newborn.

Not at all.

Sleepy babies allow us to create some of the traditional curled-up newborn poses, but awake babies can create beautiful portraits too. We simply work with whatever your baby gives us that day.

That is completely normal.

There is always time for feeding, soothing and cuddles. Your session follows your baby’s pace, so there is never any pressure to rush.

Classic Newborn sessions include traditional newborn posing, soft wraps and carefully styled setups.

Natural & Simple sessions have a softer, more understated look with neutral styling, simple outfits and wraps, and more natural positioning.

Both receive the same level of planning, care and attention. It simply comes down to which photographs feel most like you.

I have everything covered for your baby’s portraits.

Before your session, you’ll receive all the information you need on how to prepare, what to bring and what to wear.

Your gallery is usually ready to view about one week after your session. Once you’ve chosen the images you would like to purchase, I complete the final retouching.

My studio is located in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver, at 1208 Frederick Rd, with easy access off the highway. I serve clients from Vancouver, Burnaby, West Vancouver, and across Greater Vancouver.

Yes. Safety is always my top priority. I use safe, gentle posing techniques backed by years of specialized newborn photography training, and every setup is designed with your baby’s comfort and wellbeing at the centre.

Please wear cool, comfortable clothing in layers, as the studio will be warm for your baby’s comfort. For family photos, light solid colours (whites, creams, greys, soft pastels) photograph best, avoid patterns and logos.

Not at all! Baby acne, flaky skin, redness, and other little skin marks are completely normal for newborns and nothing to worry about. All of that is taken care of during editing, so there’s no need to delay your session waiting for it to clear.

Of course.

Parents and siblings are welcome to be included so we can create beautiful portraits of your growing family as well as images of your baby.

I recommend letting siblings hold the baby at home beforehand with assistance, which helps make it a fun, familiar experience. Siblings are usually only needed for the family portrait portion at the end of the session, so they won’t need to stick around for the whole shoot.

That’s one of the most common worries I hear, and it’s completely understandable in those early weeks. My job is to make sure you look absolutely stunning. With flattering posing, lighting, and professional editing, I’ll take care of the details so you feel confident in every image. This is a moment worth capturing exactly as it is.

The $290 + tax session fee includes your newborn session, session planning, styling and use of the studio’s wraps, outfits and accessories.

Digital images and products are purchased separately after you view your gallery, so you can choose exactly what you love.
