As a maternity, newborn and baby photographer located in Vancouver, BC., I see all sorts of different requests for baby photo shoots. One of my favorite types of sessions for babies is known as a baby milestone session (or a sitter session)!
I totally get it, there are so many nuances of baby photography that it is sometimes difficult to keep up! Let’s get into what a baby milestone session is and why they are so incredibly cute.
What Is A Baby Milestone Session?
Baby milestone sessions are photo shoots that are done for babies who are out of the newborn stage. They are an in-between for babies between a newborn shoot and a one-year-old shoot. Typically they are done between three months to twelve months, but I find these shoots to be best for little ones who are about 6-8 months.
This is because babies who are able to sit up on their own can have super fun and interactive photo shoots at this stage! At my studio, T Haller Photography in Vancouver, I offer outfits and props for these shoots as well.
These photo shoots can be completely customized and are great fun for a stage in your baby’s life that is typically overlooked in terms of professional photography. I would love to know any ideas that you might have for a baby photo shoot for this milestone! These shoots are typically between 20 and 45 minutes due to baby’s short attention span during these months of development.
If you are looking to have baby milestone photos taken and you are located in Vancouver, I would love to be your photographer! My name is Tanja and I own T Haller Photography in North Vancouver. Please reach out so that we can discuss your session!
