This is one of the questions I get asked most and I am always happy to help you pick the perfect wardrobe. Please find some tips on how to feel and look your best for your upcoming Newborn Family portraits.
Keep it simple
The most important tip is that you should wear something that makes you feel beautiful and for mom also is comfortable (after all.. you just had a baby!). The best advice really is to keep it simple.
Tip 1
I always recommend starting with a neutral palette. Light-colored top in creams, light grays, and light pastels help in keeping the focus on your expression and your little baby boy or baby girl.
Tip 2
Wear a simple, solid-colored top or flowy dress. Pick a top with a long or 3/4 sleeve which will show off your newborn baby perfectly. Please avoid patterns and logos!
Tip 3
Wear clothing that compliments your style and decor, so you can display your beautiful newborn photos anywhere …
Tip 4
Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel beautiful and happy.
Coordinate
Once you figured out what mom is wearing coordinate dads outfit for your newborn family portraits.
Tip 5
Again solid-coloured tops with long sleeves are preferred as they allow the pictures to focus on your little one. Avoid any patterns and logos.
Tip 6
Wear a solid coloured shirt that compliments mom’s top or dress.
Siblings – comfort comes first
The main goal is to have big brother or sister comfortable and relaxed while taking with photos with their baby sibling.
Tip 7
Pick comfortable clothing for your children, that don’t make them feel confined.
Tip 8
Again coordinate colours with mom’s and dad’s outfits. A light-coloured top on siblings helps in creating a light & airy look with focus on the family.
Express yourself
Each family is unique and different and most importantly is that you feel amazing!
Though light colours are recommended… if you love color, don’t be afraid rock it! There are great ways to incorporate brighter colours without distracting from your newborn baby.
